Mage: Rise of the Golden Age
Forest Fire in Killarney
It seems the Seers have a penchant for attacking on holidays, for Valentine’s Day, 2011, they struck again. This time in Killarney Nation Park, lighting the forest a blaze. Luckily, Sleeper news media were handled efficiently and quickly, the Guardian’s in Killarney have a special talent in such things. So news of the fire appeared only briefly on Irish and British television. It was very easy to brush off as a hoax due to the unfavorable conditions for forest fires in damp Ireland.
That is how they are certain it was the doing of Mages who dried out a large section of the forest and lit it a blaze. It took a huge portion of the Killarney consilium as well as help from the Vancouver consilium to put out the fire and restore the forest to the way it used to be. But the spirits and faeries who live in the forest are still unhappy with this event and there are worries that the delicate balance that the Mages have been maintaining there are in jeopardy.
Furthermore disturbing is that it was uncovered that it was two Seers in league with a Changeling who started the fire. Changelings are not known to work with Mages, much less Seers, for their paranoia distrust of them. Though Pukka has worked tirelessly to strengthen relations with the Freehold of Killarney, Changelings still steer clear of Mages when they can. This collaboration is unsettling, however, it has driven the Freehold of Killarney to work with the Mages of Ireland to get to the bottom of this…for now anyway.
